President Message:-

Artisan in need is a special disadvantaged group in our society. They invariably lead a life of struggle at individual, household, village and community levels. Precisely because of this, there is an urgent need to initiate intervention programmes in order to create a ground for providing equal opportunities. It is a prime requirement in the rural areas where support services and information flow are few and far between. It is not that they want only our help. Rather, they need guidance and support for realizing their inherent strength and create empowering opportunities for themselves through group formation. But, before proceeding to help empower such people we need to know who all are in need of support? This can be done through an identification campaign, which is a necessity. After identifying such people they need to be sensitized and exhorted to form self help groups through which many activities can be taken up for their eventual empowerment. This process is expected to smooth the march towards the integration of the Artisan in need /women in need with the community and participation in the economic and social activities.
